Care And Share is now “Shop and Care”

Our Care and Share program has morphed into the “Shop and Care” program, which is now a much larger initiative taken up by a number of Rotary Clubs in the Adelaide Area.

Twice per year we set up our stall outside Woolworths at the Brickworks Market, and seek donations of non-perishable goods from the store’s customers. With consent of management we run the stall for three days mid year and at the end of the year. Once collected the donations are distributed to several charities in our local area.

We are always thankful to the general public who give so generously to support those people in need .

People are approached prior to entry and asked if they could purchase an extra item or two of food that could be donated to a local charity to assist people who need some support. Most people are not only happy to help in donating food items, but many think beyond food and provide other goods such as pet food, cleaning  materials  or personal hygiene items. At the end of each day the goods are collected by the nominated charity for distribution to their client base. The generosity of people is sometimes overwhelming as they contribute bags of food items and a range of consumables that would be  useful in any household.

A display table provides a guide to customers regarding the types of goods that would be appreciated. Our display stand identifies the beneficiaries of the customers good will.
